NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Titans quarterback Jake Locker will miss the rest of the season with a Lisfranc injury to his right foot, leaving Tennessee trying to rally with Ryan Fitzpatrick. A discussion on their banged-up quarterbacks future with the Titans will have to wait until the off-season. "Were just concentrating on these seven weeks," coach Mike Munchak said Monday after announcing Lockers injury. "Thats all were concerned about. Next year is next year. Right now we just got to go forward and try to win a game." Not only did the Titans lose Locker on Sunday, they also became the first team to lose to previously winless Jacksonville this season 29-27. That loss dropped the Titans to 4-5, missing a chance to pull within a game of Indianapolis (6-3) in the AFC South. The quarterback was hurt in the second quarter of a 29-27 loss to Jacksonville at the end of an option play. Locker, who was on crutches and a walking boot, told reporters before leaving the stadium he hoped and prayed the injury wouldnt end his season. But further tests Monday confirmed the extent of the damage. "To lose him now is a huge blow," Munchak said. "I mean you watch any team that loses their quarterback its a big effect on the team." Munchak said whether Locker will need surgery to repair his foot will be decided in the next few days after consulting with surgeons. "So its hard for him," Munchak said. "I know how depressed he is, I know how hard this hurt him and our team. I mean, hes a fighter." The Titans drafted Locker with the eighth selection overall in 2011 to be their franchise quarterback, and he signed a four-year contract with an option for a fifth year. Locker is completing 60.7 per cent of his passes for 1,256 yards and has eight touchdowns with only four interceptions and a passer rating of 86.7. He is 8-10 since becoming a starter, but he will wind up missing 14 of a possible 32 starts in his first two seasons. Asked if he was worried Locker is injury prone, Munchak said that will be a topic for discussion in February. The Titans signed Fitzpatrick to back up Locker in March, and he went 0-2 against Kansas City and at Seattle when Locker hurt his right hip and knee Sept. 29 against the Jets. Fourth-year quarterback Rusty Smith will be Fitzpatricks backup and has been on the 53-man roster since Locker got hurt against the Jets. Fitzpatrick threw for 264 yards and two touchdowns as a reserve in the loss to the Jaguars, and he also ran for a touchdown trying to rally the Titans. Tight end Delanie Walker, who caught a 14-yard TD pass from Fitzpatrick with 40 seconds left, said Monday they need Fitzpatrick to step up. "Hes going to be the starting quarterback from now on because Jake is out for the year, so Ryan has no choice but to play good," Walker said. "I feel like he did a great job against the Jaguars. This is his opportunity to be the man now." Walker pointed at other NFL teams that have lost starters at that position. "But when its your turn to step up, youve got to step up and play, and thats where were at," Walker said. Safety Bernard Pollard said its time for the next man up. "So we trust and we are behind Fitz 100 per cent," Pollard said. Locker isnt the only injury the Titans are dealing with on a short week. Center Brian Schwenke hurt his right ankle and played only 15 snaps, with veteran Chris Spencer finishing the game. Munchak said Schwenke is day to day. Damian Williams hurt his hip on a punt return and was having tests Monday after leaving on crutches, forcing the Titans to look for a new returner. Alterraun Verner handled the job after Williams was hurt, but the cornerback is tied for the NFL lead with five interceptions and the Titans are reluctant to use him in that role. NOTES: The Titans injury report based on a walk-through session included RG Chance Warmack (ankle) out, along with LB Moise Fokou (left knee), LB Zaviar Gooden (hamstring). RT David Stewart (shoulder) was limited. Fake Vans 2020 . I kept my eyes focused up on the camera during each approach. I just tried to stay focused on my form, as I didnt know what the ball reaction was. I was quite emotional at the end. I did not actually see any of the shots in the game until I got home and watched the video. But it was also a learning experience. Deron Williams and Joe Johnson had 24 points each to lift Brooklyn to a 94-87 win over the Raptors, making their first playoff appearance since 08. In Europe, top teams seem to be largely happy with their squads after spending nearly $1 billion in the off-season. And although English league clubs are unlikely to splash cash in January, Arsenal and Chelsea could be tempted to strengthen their squads with new strikers. Fake Vans Cheap . Pekovic had an MRI test Tuesday on his right ankle that revealed bursitis, which is inflammation of the fluid-filled pad that cushions the joint.BEREA, Ohio - Connor Shaw played for his dad in high school and ran South Carolinas offence under the ultra-demanding Steve Spurrier in college. If that wont toughen a guys skin, nothing will.Raised in a football family, Shaw knew when he was 5 years old that all he ever wanted to do was be an NFL starting quarterback. The undrafted rookie may get his shot on Sunday. With Johnny Manziel done for the season with a hamstring injury and Brian Hoyer still unable to throw because of a sore shoulder and biceps, Shaw will likely make his starting debut when the Browns (7-8) conclude another disappointing season this week against the Baltimore Ravens. For Shaw, its a dream come true, the chance to show he belongs.Im really excited about it, he said. Its been a long season. And a long journey for the former Gamecocks star, who went 27-5 as a starter in the SEC, but then was invited for just one visit to an NFL team before Mays draft. He wasnt selected, but signed in May.During training camp, he was an outsider in the quarterback battle between Hoyer and Manziel. But the 6-foot-1, 210-pound Shaw showed enough during the preseason — he went 8 of 9 for 123 yards and a touchdown against Washington — that the Browns decided to keep him on their practice squad. He was around in case of emergency — and hes needed.Shaw doesnt have much time to get ready for the Ravens, who can still earn a playoff spot with a win and loss or tie by San Diego, or with a tie and a San Diego loss. But Browns coach Mike Pettine believes the 23-year-old Shaw, who threw 23 touchdown passes and just one interception as a senior, will produce even on short notice. You just look at him, and does he pass the eye-ball test? No, Pettine said. He doesnt have the strongest arm, and hes not the fastest. Hes not the biggest, but he just found a way. Hes just got something about him.Thats always been the case for Shaw, who likened his college game to Manziels. Hes mobile, can run for a first down when needed, but dont expect him to flash any money signs if he scores.ddddddddddddIm a tough, gritty guy, he said when asked to describe his playing style. I feel like Im smart with the ball. Well see. I havent had a whole lot of reps in the NFL, especially live reps so well see how it plays out if I suit up.Shaw got his first snaps with Clevelands offence Tuesday, and by all accounts showed hes spent the past few months studying. He wasnt out of place in the huddle or behind centre.I was impressed, said tackle Joe Thomas, who was named to eighth straight Pro Bowl team. Thomas said he didnt know Shaws background.I cant really remember taking any reps with him, Thomas said. But he stepped right in and hardly made any mistakes calling the plays.Although he was out of sight for much of the season, Shaw worked hard. He was behind Hoyer and Manziel on the depth chart but alongside on the ride.I was doing everything they were, he said. I was trying to stay as sharp as possible because you never know when youre going in.Its been quite a year for Shaw, who married his high school sweetheart, Molly. They recently welcomed a baby girl, Mila. And now, his career might take a step forward, too.Hopefully we can cap it off with a win, he said.NOTES: Pettine said theres no doubt in my mind that he and owner Jimmy Haslam share the same vision for the team. I get together with Jimmy for a minimum of an hour every week. We are very much on the same page. ... Pettine said he was alarmed and encouraged to hear Manziel admit he didnt take his job seriously enough this season. Its rare that you have a rookie like a Joel Bitonio, who comes in and its seamless. Most rookies typically are shocked by the speed of the game, by the challenge that it brings, going from being a college student and football is a part-time thing where now its to 9 to 5-plus. You might as well carry a briefcase.___AP NFL websites: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP_NFL ' ' '
